Ive now done the first scene and have made it presentable. This is just one scene/joke out of around 10. I really need your input on this so please leave a comment telling me if its funny or not and if you can, leave some constructive feedback. If I dont get any feedback I wont see the point in even having a blog anymore and will probably shut this down so if you like watching my stuff please comment.

It's funny, and very deserving of a LOL. It works as both being atmospheric and threatening followed by an effective gag.
ReplyDeleteMore commentary on the heat-vision:
No detail lines on the equipment, just shapes of appropriate temperature. If you show weapons firing seen in thermovision, the barrels need to heat up with every shot. The emotion of the scenes still work, anyway. I don't know if the lines are easier for you to keep or more work in future scenes.
turly this may be the only scene with heat vision. All my other jokes I think dont have any HV. I could put in some shots but its not totally neccesary. Any more effort into making it look better would be wasted. Best I work on more improtant things. Perhaps Ill make a few ajustments and put in things like heat footprints etc... but its uneeded to go into any further detail than that surely.
ReplyDeleteIm glad the preview is giving out a few lols. I showed it to a few friends and they laughed which is good. Hopefully I can keep that standard or improve on it throughout the animation.
Haha! I like it! Even though it wasn't as funny as to the point i fell off my chair because i had to watch the last part twice because it was a bit fast and unclear of what's happening.
ReplyDeleteMaybe i'd say add more frames, like the bird flew right in front of the laser. The view zooms back a couple of frames to show that the bird is directly in front of the laser. And then BAM!
I would suggest you could make the atmosphere more cinematic and serious, with the soldiers looking forward for something to shoot at. The slow transection of the predator revealing itself. And maybe add a dark soundtrack to it. Lemme know if you need any.
Even still, i thought it was great if you could make your own version of AVP. Like you could totally whorp/twist the original storyline but i couldn't know if you willing to go to that extend. But for just one scene, i think i'll take it easy for now, and won't comment more, until i see more =)
If you need ideas, i...think i can help you on that too.
Thank you for telling me that its kind of hard to see and you had to watch it twice, its really important people get it the first time. There is no storyline with the animation, just a bunch of jokes/sketches. They are all completely different form each other. Also I thought the soundtrack was perfect. I grabbed it straight from the predator soundtrack. If there were a perfect track for that scene, that was it.
